First and foremost always follow your doctors advice.
I'm not a doctor but here's what I've been doing.
I had open hernia surgery 3 weeks ago to repair 3 hernias. My advice is to take it slow, go for easy walks increasing the pace as you feel better. Try some gentle yoga and see how it feels.
I started strength training again this week and while some exercises have been okay like one arm rows, one leg squats and one leg deadlifts, some have not been okay like handstands, push-up on my toes and pull-ups.
We will get back to where we were, don't stress about it.
If any exercise causes you any discomfort or pain then stop immediately.

Well, since weight loss is 80% nutrition, my advice would be to track your food and stay within range. As far as exercise... wait until you heal and your doctors clears you to do so.

Hi. I have been following the sparkpeople program for a little while and was having really good success. I recently got derailed from my exercise routine due to having an unexpecpted abdominal surgery. I am beginning to heal and get some strength back but I still have pain and healing to deal with in the abdominal area. I am looking for some ideas to help me keep moving forward with my weight loss and physical activity as I get back to my full strength self. Any ideas?
