I use MapMyRun. The boyfriend uses RunKeeper. I use the free version, but I think he has the pay RunKeeper version, so it is hard to tell. I believe MapMyRun is slightly more accurate, based on counting miles with mile markers on the trail (of course, it usually gives me slightly more mileage and slightly faster paces on my iPhone than the bf has on his RunKeeper app on his android based phone, so that may be wishful thinking).
Downside? Less of a social aspect to MapMyRun than RunKeeper and you have to pay to get intervals.
Galloway (if you use the run/walk method) has some apps based on his training programs. I have not used them, but they look interesting.
