I have to agree with rebecanola. I find that each allergy season is a little different and I have to change meds. For fall I take Singulair, but for spring I have to switch to either Allegra or Zyrtec. Try another med instead of the one that's currently not working for you.

In addition, I got some of those medical masks and I'll wear them when the pollen is very thick so I don't get grass and pollen up my nose during my walk.

If you're still coughing and sneezing and you're on allergy medication (taking it regularly), then you could be on the wrong medication even if you've taken it before. You might even need an inhaler for the season. The medication that served me well last year was not working as well this year; my doctor suggested that I switch up medication and add a nasal spray. I did that and it's much better.

I shall stay the way I am because I do not give a damn.

Have you seen an allergist? Maybe they could help get things straightened out?

Until then, maybe try doing workout DVDs inside until your allergies calm down. There are a lot of workouts you can do from the comfort of your own home.

Usually when my allergies bother me, I just push through and go for a run or walk anyways since I usually breath through my mouth anyways while doing those activites. I may not go as long or as fast but it feels good to just get out there and do it.

Good Luck!

You have a choice. You can throw in the towel, or you can use it to wipe the sweat off of your face.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

I can barely step outside before the coughing and sneezing catches up to me. Just walking to some of my classes leave me out of breath.

As happy as I am to greet the sunshine and spring time, what am I suppose to do about getting exercise in when I'm suffering from these allergies?

I'm already on allergy medication, but I just don't feel like I have the breathing stamina to go take a walk outside, or even embark on the 20 minute hike to the gym.

Any advice for how to handle these allergies and step up my fitness?

You sort of start thinking anything is possible if you have enough nerve.
