I am not in Northern Illinois but I am in the Minneapolis area. And we, too, have had winter. I wasn't able to get outside much this past winter to exercise because I just couldn't deal with the serious cold and ice and snow. I did continue to exercise inside, though. I don't allow for excuses.
Do what you can inside. If it's supposed to be nice out today before the snow hits again, get outside for a walk or run. Do a DVD or utilize the SP fitness area.

I live in Ontario, where we have had a similar winter..and it is tough to get outside and run 10+ miles before dawn in a snowstorm, high winds and -25C temps, but I have done it occasionally and lots of treadmill as well. sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm having trouble this year finding the energy to exercise. That doesn't include shoveling snow or shivering really bad. Today we hit 54 degrees and I could actually wear normal clothes w/out layers & boots. My hubby just looked at me like I had two heads when I said that.
I just can't seem to find my energy when all I see is snow everywhere. It's mostly gone now, but we are supposed to get a possible 3 more inches tomorrow night.
Any suggestions welcome. I don't even know if we'll have a spring around here. Hard to believe on this Date in 2012 we had a temp of 81 degree and a full week of 80 plus temps.
