I agree. Perhaps the reason you've hit a weekend wall is because you don't like what you're doing. Exercise should be enjoyable. When a person enjoys doing something, they look forward to doing that something each and every day.
Because the benefits of exercise go way beyond burning X calories in Y time. Exercise will not only reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis, it can also help reduce your stress as well as depression. therefore, it's important to find an activity that you'll keep doing.
Maybe that's the problem. You haven't found an activity that you like. Have you tried taking a daily walk ? Walking is wonderful cardiovascular exercise as well as a great way to reduce stress. If you don't want to walk outside because of the weather, you could go to your nearest mall or even monster Walmart to mall walk. Lots of people walk indoors when the weather is bad.
Do you like dancing ? If you go to YOUTUBE and search on whatever style of dancing you like, you'll find hundreds (if not thousands) of different workouts posted. They might be 10 minute long or an hour long. If you like dancing, try a short dance workout.
Do you like bowling ? bowling is something you can do on the weekends to stay active. if you have access to a pool, you could take a water aerobics class. those are fun. when the weather gets better, you can work in your garden. mowing the lawn is good exercise.
When is the last time you cleaned out your garage or basement ? cleaning those out would also be a good weekend activity. if you want to clean the basement for 10 minutes, that works. Do what you can because every little bit really does add up.

What is it about weekends that makes us feel like we can slack off? I used to have difficulty exercising and staying on track with my diet on the weekends, it is as if I felt like I earned the weekends off for being good all week. Then I realized that it was a gift to myself to stay on track each and every day. I put my running shoes and workout clothes next to my bed and put them on immediately upon waking up. This shifts me into "healthy mode" and I am ready to workout. Do your 10 minutes as soon as you wake up and then it is out of the way for the whole day. Plan the night before what you will do, set up your workout DVD or have all your equipment ready and jump out of bed and start. I need to plan and schedule otherwise the day will slip by and I have no desire to workout. Set yourself up for success by planning ahead.

Glad to hear that you started building the exercise habit. Remember, you don't have to work out every day. Maybe your body is asking for the weekend off from formal exercise. Since you are having no trouble during the week, maybe you can start slowly increasing your weekday sessions to get to 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week (or 75 of intense). Maybe you can increase to 15 minute sessions. Then 20 minutes, etc until you reach, say 30 minutes 5 days a week.
Also, make sure you are doing exercise you enjoy. If it isn't fun for you, it makes it harder to stick to it.

I seem to be having a lot of difficulty getting motivated enough on the weekends to do 10 minutes of exercise. I was able to find 10 minutes each day for the January challenge, but now I seem to have hit a brick wall on the weekends. I'm great during the week doing my exercise routine, and I feel great after doing it. Does anyone else have the weekend "road block" that I have with working out for 10 minutes? Can anyone give me advise on how to overcome this? Thanks in advance for your help.
