Abs are made in the kitchen with that being said, a sound diet and exercise is just the right thing to do. I am currently working on developing a stronger core hoping to get abs by the summer :) Diet counts about 90% of reaching my goal to get abs so I had to clean my diet which is most important.

Use negetivity and name calling as your motivation.

Correction: Not A good ab workout, but a regiment built into a regular exercise routine. Don't abs 2-3 times a week regularly can make a difference.

As a mom of two, I can say for a fact that a good ab workout CAN in fact help to sinch the mid section somewhat, although I agree that mostly it's good diet and exercise to burn calories that will make the difference. Having a kid under your ab muscles stretches them out. It can even separate them. I can't tell you exactly what to do, but any good mix of ab exercises will help. i'm sure if you google post partum ab workout you'll get a good idea. There are also endless numbers of body weight workouts out there that you can do at home. Look up Zuzkalight on youtube or bodyrock.tv as far as I know there's a lot for free there, also of course the exercise videos by coach nicole.

The other thing i would advise is not to obsess too much about one measurement, much like obsessing about the scale, it can actually hold you back by discouraging if you don't see the results you want in a short time.

Keep at it. You are doing great if you actually do it after your kids to go to bed. Kudos to you. I couldn't do it, I need the gym. emoticon emoticon emoticon

A very simple all body workout would be:

* squats/lunges
* planks
* deadlifts
* pushups (modified, incline or wall pushups if necessary)
* bent over dumbbell rows

Most of these would involve just your own bodyweight for resistance, and any heavy household object (eg. milk jug full of water) would substitute for dumbbells.

Burning fat is an all-body process, and unfortunately you can't target where you lose weight from. Energy is delivered to the muscles via the bloodstream, NOT from being absorbed from surrounding fat stores. Core exercises may develop the core muscles, but will do absolutely nothing about the overlying layer of fat.

Rather than focussing on just the core, you will get a better results by working all the major muscle groups in your body.

Hi friends,
I'm not new here- been off and on since 2008.
My second baby was born in December 2011 and I was 94 kgs at that time. In two plus years time, I've managed to reach 68.5 kgs. When I compared the inches as entered in SP in 2011, I'm glad all the measurements are lower by 2 inches now except the WAIST!!!!

So while I try to do cardio and abs(at home), I do not know how many reps to do and for how long. Can a coach /member giude me on this? My waist currently measures 43".

The time I squeeze in for my core exercises are after the kids have slept at 11 o'clock on some nights!!!!!
