This is only a guess at my end. When you are exercising all the blood flow is going to the working muscles. You might not be getting enough of a blood flow to you neck head area. I know cyclists myself included after a long ride we feel light headed for the same reason that we don't have enough blood flow there.
I would still consult your Dr. and tell him the symptoms and see what he has to say.
When exercising you have to just keep moving one foot at a time.
