I suspect that it is a case of feeling cold after swimming in the water, rather than hot after a more conventional workout.

Digestion itself releases heat., and your body may be signalling that it is trying to increase its metabolism in this way.

A healthy post-workout snack to refuel your body is actually a good idea. Pre-planning it can help keep things within your overall calorie budget.

It's likely a combo of burning more calories swimming than zumba plus burning more calories being cold from the water.

Thanks. Protein is an issue for me right now because I am doing a month-long vegan challenge with some of my colleagues, and it is hard to get in enough of it. However, even when I am eating more protein, I still have the same issue. I don't understand why one kind of exercise doesn't seem to make me noticeably hungrier and one does.

Looking at your nutrition tracker I would say increasing your protein would be a start. Protein is the #1 macronutrient that is going to fill you up and keep you satisfied. It seems you are only getting half of the minimum recommended amount.

After work on Tuesdays I take an hour long Zumba class. When I get home afterwards, I am not at all hungry, and really don't have much interest in food for the rest of the evening. I usually make a smoothie, but often even that is unappealing. Wednesday through Friday I go to the pool after work and swim for about 45 minutes. By the time I get home I am STARVING! It's like I cannot fill myself,

I am burning a similar amount of calories each day, and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat before hand.

Why?
