squats = getting out of a chair, reaching to get something from a low cabinet.
woodchops with a weight = reaching to get high things
step ups = stairs
pushups/standing chest press with resistance band = pushing open a heavy door
rows = pulling open a door
deadlift = shovelling snow, moving heavy furniture, picking up a heavy box.

I just learned about Functional Fitness and was wondering if anyone has any specific exercises that an older female could do safely. When I mean "older" I talking early 60s. I want to learn to do exercises that would mimic my everyday activities: walking up & down stairs, reaching for items up in a cabinet, getting up and down from a chair, etc. Get the idea? I would love to hear from anyone if you have suggestions or know of a website that show any functional exercises. emoticon
