Why not to try some "braiding hairstyles"? As you are blessed with long and wavy hairs...I guess you might opt for the fishtail braids, ladder kind braids, waterfall braids etc..May it favorably works for you...My stylist suggest me to "Kadi" for my hairs. What say about it? :)

I got that Aero Jump jump rope DVD workout. I was going to try it yesterday when I got it but had already decided to take a day or two off from it. I was sore and I think wearing myself out from doing it too much!

I am thinking tomorrow but it's hard to balance because I'm a snowsports person too and the snow emergencies have been lifted (for now!)

I'll update with how it is!

I have the same problem with a pony tail. No way could I jump rope for very long wearing a ball cap! My head would be soaked.

I love jumping rope. Inexpensive and the equipment travels well emoticon

I will try the two french braids as well, but looks like the braided bun is seriously THE BOMB! I had to use a heavy-duty workout style headband to secure it since I don't have the stick yet, but it held a LOT better! LEC358 you rock! Thanks!

Not usually. It works better the longer your hair is so when my hair is below my bra strap, it works great but it starts not working so well when my hair is closer to the middle of my shoulder blades.

make a braid out of your pony tail, wrap it into a bun, and then secure it with a hair stick. Basically, this video except you braid your pony tail first: www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_0NLc5wHD4&noredi

Maybe I will try a headband that pins the ponytail in as well. I think with the jumping it will come out, but I will try it.

By braided bun, do you mean make a braid and tie it in a bun, or one of those braids that goes around the head, or??

Slick back with a pony tail and a thin head band on top.

Braided buns *do not* move. Rather than bobby pins, I use a hair stick to keep it in place and even after an hour long zumba class, the bun was still there.

I thought about a baseball cap, actually wore a visor but my head got sweaty. I'm going to try the braids.

Has anyone done Aerojump or the Kathy Smith Aerobox video? They are both led by the same person, Michael Olajide.

I would try using pins/clips to attach braids to my head. Or a tightish bun might work.

The braid flips around and hits the rope too. I am now thinking maybe a braid that I then use another rubber band to tie underneath itself? Maybe two braids or even three smaller one?

I started jump roping the other day after not doing it for a while and I LOVE it. But my hair is really long - what is the best way to wear it for jump roping 30-60 minutes? I normally put it into a ponytail and loop the end under but it keeps falling out and even in a braid it seems to fly around and catch the jump rope sometimes...

Any other tips or good workouts for jumping rope please let me know. I've been looking at getting the Aerojump DVDs too. My calves are sore but other than that it was GREAT!
