The brand is Woodway and if I won the lottery, I'd buy one. A Woodway costs as much as a cheap car, 5 figures.

The slats run on top of ball bearings which mean they need no adjusting/waxing/greasing and are super smooth.

So, I'm training for my first 5k, and while running outside is ideal, when it is super cold, I run inside at the Gym. I've noticed they have some treadmills that have slated belts instead of a smooth belt. Anyone know about these? Are they better? What would be the purpose of using these slated types as opposed to the smooth ones? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!
