Hi, I am embarking on my new Lifestyle journey with Sparkpeople. I refuse to call it a "diet" because Diets dont work, because you can never stick to them for long.. I feel that real and lasting change has to come from a commitment to a Lifestyle change where you commit to eating better, and adding exercise. My special challenges include the fact that I am Asthmatic, and it becomes worse with exercise, and the fact that I have osteoarthritis in my lower back. I have gained a lot of weight due to the fact that I have a blood condition that has required many treatments with Prednisone, a nasty steroid medication that creates a whole host of problems. I am hoping I can get some results by using the Sparkpeople program, as I really don't want to join Weight Watchers or anything like that. The good news is, I have a wonderful husband that accepts me for who I am now, and does not judge me by my size. He has been with me for 25 years, 19 of them as my husband.
