As Susan pointed out, you want a balanced fitness program that includes cardio, strength training, and flexibility. While you don't burn as much doing strength training, your heart rate monitor still can't accurately give you a calories burned amount for that. Strength training has a lot of benefits, even if you aren't burning as many calories as you do during cardio, it does help you burn more calories overall.
