I have been much more successful exercising at home. With my schedule as a nurse I am too tired to go to the gym after work. I usually put in a tape when I get home and get it done! I am doing Turbofire right now and love it. It is fun and is kicking my butt! I like it because it is a series with a plan of advancement. It is kickboxing with cardio and strength training. It is working as I am losing inches. If anybody is interested I can get you 25% off as I am a coach. Regardless of what you do keep up the good work!

YouTube has lots of cardio and strength training videos. Try Leslie sansones Walk Away the Pounds if your just starting out. And like others have said, there are super exercise videos here on SparkPeople. You can even do strength training with soup cans or sauce cans!

There are lots of resources online for getting fit without a gym. Try looking up body weight exercises on Youtube or here on SparkPeople. Those don't require any equipment and also tend not to take up a lot of space.
Go to my fitness and you can customize a workout. There should be a place where you can check to get an exercise plan and one of the options is what equipment you have, just check the appropriate boxes.

Others have mentioned strength training and dvds/online videos (for cardio and strength training I presume). Don't forget cardio. Go out for a walk and build your way up to running (run/walk intervals). If you have a bike, go for a bike ride.
For your inner self... just know, there are many people who have gone through what you have, you're not alone. There's power in numbers... sometimes just having a place to talk about it makes all the difference. The one thing that helped the absolute most for me after our son passed was talking about it. There's lots of help for Bereaved Parents... please don't be afraid to ask of it.
With time and tears, I gained the perspective of "the worse thing I could imagine has happened and I lived through it... I can do anything"... that being said see the following in regards to to working out at home...
If you've got a VCR or DVD player...Thrift Shops, Used Book Stores, Libraries, Amazon.com, and Ebay.com are great places to buy or borrow workouts.
If you've got Cable... lots of times there's an OnDemand exercise channel.
On your computer... There's YouTube-search things like "body weight exercises" or find titles of workout videos on collagevideo.com and then search for the full video posted on YouTube. sparkpeople has exercise demos.
I'm all for working out at home... you're in control of timing and pace.. it's your castle by all means.
There are plenty of exercises that you can do with just your body weight. I would recommend taking a look in the Fitness section of the Articles & Videos tab at the top of the page. There are exercise demos, workout videos, etc. in there that I'm sure you will find helpful.
For inexpensive equipment, resistance bands can be a good investment and give you extra options for very little money.

"You are your own gym" is a great book of body weight exercises (and plans to follow), they have an app too. Resistance bands are great too. You can buy some pretty heavy resistance ones in sets on Amazon for a good price.
I am unable to join a gym for two reasons. One. Money and two my work schedule. But I want to get into shape after being in the dumps and sad for over a year.
I can work out at home but do not know what to do. I do not have any equipment and don't think I will be able to fit it in my budget any time soon. What can I do to loose weight. I want to likes my stomach my legs and my flabby arms..... Lol. Any suggestions???
