Ok, thanks! My main reason for wanting one is to know how many calories I've burned. I use the elliptical almost daily, so I'm wondering how accurate the fitbit and other pedometer-style counters would be.

I too have been looking at these for a while. I just saw Polar now has a "loop" wrist band style one. slightly less than the force.
I did see a blog about someone who tried a bunch at the same time, and out of all of them, she liked the flex the best for the price. I think that was before the force one came out.

I currently use a Polar FT7 to monitor my calories burned/heart rate, but since it is a band you wear around your upper mid-section and a rather large watch, it's not an attractive accessory. You know what I mean? Calories burned is my motivator, having said that, is the Fitbit another option for me? I know it tracks steps - I have two pedometers - but it is not the same motivator for me.
Is anyone else using it for calories burned and if so, are you happy with it?
Thanks in advance for any input.

If you have a smart phone. You dont have to buy anything. Just download a fitness tracker like Endomondo. Does everything the fitbit does and more, and its free.

I love SP but I do not have a Fitbit, I use the online tracker and guestimate my exercise as well as use my elliptical. There are so many scientific hariables with tracking that no tracker can be that accurate. Your frame, metabolism, age, weight resistance, effort, terrain and incline can all be factors.

This is just food for thought. I am sure the Fit Bit is a great motivator. I would love to have one but right now Christmas put a dent in my budget!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

There are a lot of different opinions on activity trackers. If you're interested in the fitbit, you might want to check out this spark blog. there are over 105 comments that you may find helpful.

Hi, I've been wanting to buy a calorie counter watch/clip for a while now, but I have no idea which one is the best value! I'm stuck between the fitbit (the regular little clip), the Jawbone Up, and the fitbit Force (the wristband). Does anyone own any of these, or have any advice on which one to get? Responses are greatly appreciated!!
