After (2) rounds of prednisone, my plantar fascitis is gone (knock on wood). Hang in there!

I did a short little strength/cardio workout this morning that felt pretty good. I think I am good to go in short bursts for now!

Whirlpool! Sounds great.

I seem to get little injuries ALL THE TIME. Right now it's a lightly-pulled calf muscle. Every week at Step it bothers me. It's not painful so I keep going, hoping that is not going to harm me in the long run!

Enjoy the whirlpool and keep taking care of yourself!

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I really needed it yesterday! I am feeling a bit more like myself today, mostly because Christmas break starts at noon! YAY! I hope to spend some time in the whirlpool at the gym over break. I am thinking this will be a wonderful cure!!

Thanks again to you all!

When it rains, it pours.

Here's the dirty little secret that's never talked about when a person decides they want to be a bit fitter, at some point, you will end up with an injury. Take the Williams' sisters. Pretty amazing athletes. How many times have they been sidelined with an injury ? The Gronk, Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots. Spent months in rehab nursing a fractured forearm. What happens when he is finally cleared to play ? Gets tackled and ends up with a torn ACL.

Don't look at your injury as a roadblock. It's merely a short detour. With time, not only will your feet get better, but your back will too. If your doctor said it was okay to do some light cardiovascular exercise, like taking a walk, take a walk. There are members who will tell you how they lost 100+ pounds just by walking and watching what they ate.

If your doctor wants you to lay off exercise for a week or so, it's okay to lay off. Everything really does have a way of working out.

Uhhhhhgggg.

I know what you mean. One minute your doing great, the next you're not. It's tough getting older, especially when you are used to being an active person.

For me, the calendar says I'm nearly 50, but my brain thinks I'm still 29. I don't recuperate after beach volleyball the way I used to. I can't swim 5000 yards/day 6 days/week anymore. My body can do the exercise, but then it takes so much longer to recuperate. Drives me crazy.

Back pain is a real issue as we age. The muscles of the spine and the supporting muscles of the core just aren't as strong as they were in out 20's. We need to use more tools such as hand carts to carry heavy loads (and even not-so-heavy loads) over distances. We need to listen to our bodies more closely too, especially when they tell us to take a break.

I know I'm not telling your anything you don't already know, but I hope it helps. Feel better soon.

JUICE to you.

Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels and looks.

Ugh, so sorry. I just started PT for plantar faciitis three weeks ago. Some days I feel good and some days I feel like you, "WILL THIS EVER GET BETTER?!"

I'm sorry about your back. It's good to whine every now and again, get it all out!

I hope this passes quickly for you. I hope you have a great week!

I have plantar fascitis that had to be treated this fall. I was finally released by the doctor a couple of weeks ago. I was able to add back some cardio and was doing great as long as I "Listen to the Foot" as the doctor says.

I am whining because last week, I hurt my back moving offices and now I have been sidelined AGAIN!!! I feel like my body is fighting me every step of the way! I did some stretching and walk aerobics this morning for just a FEW minutes, but not my normal strength and stretching morning routine.

Will I ever get back to normal?????

Thanks for the whine...I feel better now...
