Running is great exercise, but posters on this thread make some great points too.
Firstly, for most people, weight loss is 80% nutrition, and just 20% exercise. Or put more bluntly, you can't outrun a bad diet.
Secondly, the best form of exercise is something you actually enjoy doing, as you are more likely to stick with it in the longer term. If you enjoy running on the treadmill, great. If its something you have to force yourself to do, then you may want to consider other forms of exercise instead.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
