Thank you so much! That clears things up nicely, and explains why I have been having such a difficult time this past month. Now I know that if I add an activity manually on the Fitbit website, I can also add it on Spark People. I was blaming the reduced calorie burn on my reduced weight and was about to throw in the towel! As you can see, I manually added my elliptical calories yesterday and rewarded myself with some cheerios and strawberries. Here's to more exercise and eating more calories!

The only thing we are bring over from Fitbit onto our site is data from your Fitbit device (not their website). So if your device gives you 100 calories and you log an additional 50 calories manually on fitbit.com, you would only see 100 calories of that (from your Fitbit device). You can tell what gets brought in from Fitbit by finding the “Fitbit Entry” listed on your Fitness Tracker on SparkPeople. In looking at your SparkPeople account for yesterday, the number of additional calories you can eat is correct based on what you have logged in your Fitness Tracker.

Hope that helps!

I'm sorry, I'm still having difficulty understanding this. If I don't track a run on SP, but do track it on FB where will the calories show up? The reason this concerns me is I rely heavily on the calories in and out on the front page. I've been noticing that my calories out is higher on days I don't track exercise in Fitbit, meaning I can eat more. This seems counter intuitive to me. If you are able to look at my account, I manually put in the run on Sunday, in case that is causing confusion.

Another example, right now on my SP front page the fitness tracked number is +74. This morning I logged 70 minutes (775 calories) on Fitbit. Where will that 775 calories show up? I really, REALLY want to eat them emoticon (not *ALL* of them).

Thank you for your patience.

The Fitbit section on your Fitness Tracker will only show the Fitbit entry amount in the exercise column and then the general activity amount. Since the entry you made for your run was listed separately on our site in the Fitness Tracker, it is not included in that total (exercise fitbit entry and general activity amount from Fitbit). But that 640 calories is accounted for in your Fitness Tracker, which also is factored into your nutrition goals.

Hope that helps!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have my Fitbit synced with SP and have been using it for some time. This past week I noticed that my calorie count is off on the fitness page. I use a HRM while exercising and log the calories burned on Fitbit. The difference in the daily calorie burn on SP is the same number that I have logged on Fitbit. For example, on Sunday I logged 640 calories for a 51 minute run. My SP total calories is 1654 while my Fitbit says 2294 for the day. The steps match. Any ideas?
