After, but I have coffee before. With coconut oil, so about 300 calories. I have protein after.

Both, a little before and a little extra after to get my enery up to par.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

Coffee before, sometimes half a banana, but usually not. I eat right after I work out. I think I read that your muscles absorb more protein or something like that after you work out!

I'm a morning exerciser, but I try to get something in my system before working out, just so I have the energy to do what I'm trying to do. I find that fruit and a cup of coffee does the trick most days. I eat breakfast right after working out.

If I work out at a different time of day, I just try to make sure that it's been long enough since eating that I won't feel sick or get cramps, then I have a meal or snack after.

Whatever works at the moment. Sometimes I get up and go running on an empty stomach. One thing I do avoid is eating a full meal and then running. Sometimes I'll fix dinner, have a little bit, then go to the gym, and eat the rest of my meal when I get home. If I'm working out after work, I might have a couple bites of something energy-dense, like nuts or dates so I'm not distracted by hunger during my workout, or too famished to take the time to cook when I get home afterwards.

Voluntary Discomfort is the secret cornerstone of strength. We build our whole lives around increasing comfort and avoiding discomfort, and yet by doing so we are drinking a can of Weakness Tonic with every morning’s breakfast. ~Mr. Money Mustache

Small meal about 2 hours before - snack within an hour after the workout. When I run long on Saturday, I have a larger meal after the workout.

I don't exercise at the same time every day.
In the morning, I try to eat breakfast before exercising.
I usually wait at least 30 minutes after eating a meal to exercise.
I usually don't want to eat immediately after exercising. I kind of just listen to my body.
I drink water with my meals.

I can't eat before I run--at least not less than 1.5 or 2 hours before, and since I usually run at 5am, that means I don't eat before. :) I usually have a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter within 30-60 minutes after, though. I drink somewhere around 16 oz. of water before and 16 after--more or less depending on how hot it is outside, how much I sweat, etc.

I find that if I eat before I end up gaining a stomach ache and I just get really hungry after. For some odd reason if I wait until after to eat then I have more energy during my workouts. But that could be that I'm still waking up because I like to work out in the mornings.

Yes, that is very true that you should wait an hour and a half before exercising or maybe even two hours. It takes time for food to digest which is a double whammy on your body if you exercise too quickly.
Wait until the nutrients are in your blood stream and you can have a super work out without any problems pushing yourself. Your sugar will also be lower thereafter.

I work out about an hour after I finish my dinner. Then I have some whey protein immediately after my workout. Later in the evening, I also have a snack.

It depends on my workout.

I always eat before I strength train. If I'm running a 5k or race, I eat a little something about 60-90 minutes before the race. then I eat afterwards. If I'm just doing my morning run, I eat after I run.

You do have to be careful how much you eat because you might end up with an upset stomach when you exercise. Think of it this way, you're asking your body to do two things at the same time. You're asking your body to do an intense workout AND you're asking it to digest the food. In some people, that can lead to an upset stomach. Others might be fine.

Once again, depends on the person so you are going to have to try different things to see what works for you.

After. Eating before gives me runner's stitches and zaps my strength and energy. I workout in the AM after my coffee and eat at noon when I get hungry. Not much of a breakfast person.

I work out after I get back from work and I'm usually hungry, but i found that if I eat and then work out I feel weighed down. So I usually just have a good snack to give me energy to work out and eat afterwards. But it depends on your own preferences and how your body reacts. Observe your body and do what's best for you.

I workout first thing in the morning so the most I'll have is a bite of cereal before I'm out the door to the gym. Drink at least half a liter (maybe a full liter if its a hard workout) while at the gym and then eat breakfast at work.

I try not to eat within 2-3 hours before working out, especially if I am doing cardio dance, so that I don't throw up. Yes, I really work out that hard. Yes, I have thrown up in a Zumba class.

I usually work out in the evening and then have a light dinner within an hour afterward. Medium-sized breakfast-big lunch-small dinner is just cultural for me, not something I am doing to manipulate my diet per se.

Yes, I always sip on tea or water with my meals--don't you choke or hiccup otherwise?
