Have you considered that you might be getting withdrawal symptoms? Some studies have suggested that some of the ingredients in fast food (like msg) are mildly addictive and can give withdrawal symptoms like headaches, fatigue and grouchiness - this would explain why you feel better when you've just eaten fast food.
In this case... you may have to go cold turkey for a period to get it out of your system!

I calculated calorie intake of boiled eggs and 2 cups fruit/veg. I don't have enough carb intake per meal according to diabetes.org. Yes, I have nuts. Looks like I should be eating more of them in the morning instead of holding off till later in the day. Thank you for your posts. I am now on my way to try a more balanced strategy.

If you're not depriving yourself, you may not be eating enough to sustain your day plus any extra activity you do. It's not unusual to feel grumpy when you haven't eaten enough.
try increasing your calories to match the amount of physical activity you do each day. Do you eat nuts ? Try having nuts as a snack. You may find the extra protein/healthy fat helps perk up your disposition.
I don't know the calorie intake; I wasn't hungry and used that as my gage. I was like this for a few weeks when I went back to fast food as a result of mood. But now I am back to gaining weight and want to try smoothie/egg substitute again. Minus the grouchiest please.
