Hey! I brand spanking new to sparkpeople, but I'm old hat to pedometers and fitness tracking. If something tracks my pedometer steps (like Sparkpeople), then I just count the steps as long as It was just walking. If I ran, sprinted etc, I would count the specific activity because it burns more calories.
For instance.. Today I walked 11,080 steps, ran for 10 minutes, and took a 25 minute walk.
So I would log in 11,080 steps, and a 10 minute run. I would skip logging in the walk because I felt like the pedometer covered it.
That's just the way I do it, but I suspect it's a grey area where everyone does it different.
Either way, Good Luck!
