Generally it is recommended that you eat and drink at least a little bit of something before working out, especially in the morning since your body has gone 8+ hours without food. However, everyone is different and if you have trouble with acid reflux and find that working out on an empty stomach is better/easier for you, then it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend doing a strenuous workout without eating a little bit of food though. You may want to give it a try and see what works best for you -- sometimes it takes experimenting a little to see what works well and what doesn't.
