Have you tried taking digestive enzymes for your acid re-flux? I am 7 mos. pregnant have had it bad for a few months. I've been taking enzymes for a week now and drinking kombucha tea every morning for about 6 weeks and it had been much better! I only have it now about once a week and usually from snacking too much. Anyway, something to try. I agree with the others that I wouldn't exercise without food. Especially if they are strenuous and in the morning after fasting all night.

Generally it is recommended that you eat and drink at least a little bit of something before working out, especially in the morning since your body has gone 8+ hours without food. However, everyone is different and if you have trouble with acid reflux and find that working out on an empty stomach is better/easier for you, then it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend doing a strenuous workout without eating a little bit of food though. You may want to give it a try and see what works best for you -- sometimes it takes experimenting a little to see what works well and what doesn't.

I get acid reflux from time to time. I take the generic Prilosec for two weeks and it goes away. I will also pop a tagamet before I work out.

My experience is that it is OK to exercise without food.
Also it's OK to do upright exercise such as walking after food, not too strenuous. It helps!

I have acid reflux, and I have read that I shouldn't eat for hours before exercising as it causes my acid reflux to bother me. I only have time to exercise in the morning, is it ok to exercise without food?
