while the TRX is great strength training, consider it another tool in your toolbox. What the TRX can't do well is build huge amounts of strength - I used it and 20-35 lb kettlebells exclusively in the first year after my son was born and when I returned to gym ST, I was WEAK. To get strong you have to lift heavy stuff.

I just purchased a TRX Suspension trainer for my home. I have been using one in the gym for some upper body for a few weeks now. My DS(16) uses one in the gym all the time for his elite athlete development.

Is this considered strength training? Should I swap out my weights with the TRX?
