It's worked for me. I mix my workout DVD's based on what I am in the mood for and I have been successful. If I were to try to do workouts that I really didn't want to do ... I probably would have strayed and stopped working out long ago.

My collection is getting quite large.

Why not? As long as you are moving (in a manner that works for your fitness level), that is what counts!

I agree that as long as you feel ok then it is fine. I like variety if I am doing videos as well.

As long as the workouts are challenging and don't bother your back, it's totally fine to switch between routines for variety.

Hope that helps,

I agree with the first poster. If you feel good and it is a comfortable exertion for you then it is probably just fine.

ECHO_Q90: I don't know what to make of "your bad back." I am assuming that it is not so bad that you should not be doing any exercising.

As far as mixing your videos, I personally think two things about that: (1) You are staying active -- that is a good thing, usually. (2) You are having variety in your exercising. That is normally a good thing, too.

I suppose if you exercise completely different muscles, or over-exercise some and under-exercise others, maybe switching videos too often or too fast could be a problem. But I doubt it.

Well, one of the SparkPeople professionals can better advise you. My opinion is that you are exercising, and that is good.

Hey SparkPeople! I have a question that could be really easy to answer, but will take a minute to ask...

So my sister loves ordering exercise programs, she has always been in shape and loves to exercise, but she does these programs for a few months than moves on to the next trend. I end up with all her old exercise programs.
I currently have Zumba, Brazilian Butt Lift, Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire and a few 10 Minute Solution videos.

My work out routine has been a little erratic and it's probably going to stay that way. I hate planning and setting up a schedule so I have just been doing what sounds the most fun that day.
I've been doing about 30 minutes of cardio (Zumba, Brazilian Butt) followed by 15 - 20 minutes of the turbo jam/fire than finish it off with 10 minute solution flexibility

Is it good for my body that I'm doing this or should I slow it down?
I would do the turbo jam/fire for the entire thing because it feels really productive to me, but I have a bad back and that would be too rough.
