Thanks for the replies! :) I am going to focus on just doing lower body exercises like squats and lunges without extra weights. My awesome DH found a hands free leash for my dog so I can walk her. Of course it snowed last night :( but I can definitely still keep walking. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

You could probably dance as long as it is something like Zumba. You could probably do water aerobics.

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba

I feel your pain. I bought a bike so that I could get more/new exercise. Then I had an accident last Sunday and shattered my elbow. Had surgery on Friday. Now I am walking, which I do not enjoy and doing lower body strength training like squats, lunges, etc. Good luck to you.

I agree with Olga, go for a walk every day. It keeps you active!

Your happiness is up to you. Whatever happened in your life to make you who you are up until the point you realize this is irrelevant. It is your responsibility now to take control and change your life to be what you want it to be.

Energy and persistence conquer all things. Make time, not excuses.

Wow, that is awful! It definitely would preclude your doing lots of stuff but you can certainly still walk or do the Lesley Sansone walking videos which are free on youtube.
When I walk I do so without my dog because she is only 10 pounds and has to stop to sniff every item along the route so it is not an exercise paced walk with her.
Good luck. I hope your hand heals up soon.

Hi everyone.
I have been trying to start working out and being more active. I have been doing workout DVDs and walking my dog. Then last Monday I was walking my dog and I tripped over a broken piece of sidewalk and I fell and broke my hand. I don't know what to do now. I can't do any kind of weight training because I can't hold weights. I can't walk my dog because she is crazy rambunctious and pulls. I can't do yoga because I can't put any pressure on my hand. So what can I do?
