I've had a yoga DVD for a few years. Admittedly I haven't used it much. Today I tried one of the Spark People short yoga videos, and I noticed how much more clear minded I was today. I'm challenging myself to do yoga twice a week for the next month to see if I notice a difference. I am actually embarrassed when my boyfriend catches me exercising, I used to do everything alone and now I need to get used to him seeing me do it.

Once you stop living, you start dying.... I ain't got time for that!!

I love doing yoga, and there are different kinds to choose from, depending on how I feel that day .

Youtube has a ton of yoga videos - from beginner to advanced.

The best exercise in the world is to bend down and help someone up.

I've only begun to do yoga for about the last six months and I look forward to it. Can't really tell you why I was hesitant to try it before now. I wish I had started when it was first suggested. My body loves what it's doing for me.

I have been doing yoga for three years now. I attend classes three times a week. It's great to do it between my gym workouts and especially after a long run.
Not only do I feel more balanced, my arms and legs feel much stronger and I've made many new friends through various classes.

MLAN613,

I love yoga ! For years, I didn't do it because I thought it was only good for increasing my flexibility. Little did I know that not only can yoga help me improve my flexibility, it can also help me improve my balance, strength, stamina and coordination.

Amazon deals is offering a coupon deal from a local yoga studio. I'm looking through their schedule now because I miss taking a class. I've done Hatha, Vinyassa and Power Yoga. I'm considering taking a class in Kundalini yoga. Mostly, I need to increase my hip flexibility now that I am running again. I also need it to help my muscles recover.

Namaste

I tried Yoga at the very beginning of my journey, which was July 8, 2013, and I think the class was too advanced. Instead of feeling empowered and strong, I left the class feeling like a failure because I couldn't come close to doing the poses and things the instructor was leading...even though most others in the class COULD do them.

I would love to try a yoga class more geared for beginners. I joined my local Y and I really enjoy the group exercise. It makes it feel more "fun". :-) I guess I can drop a comment card in a suggestion box and see what happens.

Is it tomorrow already?

On Sunday I am starting a 6-week Yoga Foundations class. It is an introduction for people like me who have never done yoga. I'm very scared because I am overweight and feel like I'm to big to take the class but I keep hearing about the benefits and why should I deny myself when it can help me.

I introduced power yoga to my routine about a month ago. I love it. My muscles always feel so warm and loose after. I do power lifting and tend to get tight and sore. I definitely don't get that nice, warm feeling from that. I love that feeling! It seems unique to yoga. It's also improving my balance and flexibility. I'm definitely sold.

"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. It doesn't happen, what does happen is you get results. Lifting Barbie weights does nothing but waste time.

That's great! What a good name for a class.

I like yoga well enough. I've even gone on yoga retreats, but one time it was TOO MUCH YOGA for me for one weekend, LOL.

I started doing yoga with DVDs. I have gone to studios but they are pretty expensive, so I just do yoga at the gym. The Friday evening class at my gym is taught by a "real" yoga person. She cracks me up -- she's a little hippydippy in the best possible way.

Enjoy your 6-week class!

My gym is currently offering a class called "Anybody Yoga", which is geared towards people who have little or no yoga experience or have been away for awhile. I definitely have little experience but have been wanting to get more into it because I run and am incredibly tight. The first class was last night and runs 6 weeks. It was so fun! And my hips are wanting more. It felt so good.

Have you ever tried yoga and what has been your experience?
