If you keep pulling the same muscle, you may have a chronic injury that has not properly healed. Have you discussed this with your doctor ? If not, start there. Don't try to do any abdominal exercises until you know what the problem is. Any further exercise puts you at risk for further injury.

An injury that takes several days to heal only to be injured again says something is wrong. Thus the reason you need a professional opinion from your doctor.

If you are working out at the gym, have a (preferably certified) personal trainer watch your form. They may be able to point out what the problem is or show you some alternate exercises you could do to prevent injury.

Question 1: what exercise are you doing?

Question 2: have you talked to a doctor to make sure its not your appendix/spleen/other internal organ?

I have a problem with my abdominal muscles. I keep pulling the same muscle, in my lower left quadrant of my abs. I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Every time I do it, I have to stop working out for a few days so that I don't hurt it worse, and it is really impeding my progress. I could really use some advice on how to make my abs stronger without pulling the same muscle over and over. Help?
