Indeed this is true.
Just yesterday I was with my Doctor and I am now officially diagnosed as having osteoperosis - at age 43, so very young.
My Doctor advised me that my running and walking is good for weight bearing exercise to help strengthen my bones in my legs and hips, and also recommended weight lifting for bones in my arms.
So with her comments in mind, I shall continue my foray into weight lifting at the gym, now with an extra incentive.
Oh, and I've also been prescribed medication to help build up my bone density - apparently the medication can have some rather unpleasant side effects, so I'm not looking forward to starting that aspect of my treatment!
Please read my ticker backwards as I am trying to gain weight.
