I'm a runner through and through, but when I need to slack off a bit and take the pace down to recover, then I absolutely LOVE walking outdoors.
Where I live there are several routes I can take, and my village is at the top of a hill so no matter which direction I head in, there are always hills to tackle.
I'm also fortunate in that as well as walking the streets between villages, there are also a lot of public rights of way across fields, so I like nothing better than a good hike over the hills and fields.
Keep up the walking - it's a great way to keep fit, and something our bodies are naturally designed to do.
