(a couple weeks before freshman year of High School) Right now is the best time to change your life. Enjoy school and don't think about what others think of you. Stop drinking all that pop and junk food. Join the Volleyball team, you can always use the bus or get a ride from someone on the team. Stay calm and enjoy life. Work hard towards what ever you want to do in life. Friends will come and go so don't worry about those that left. There are some health issues that awaits you but you may not get it if you eat right and stay active. Don't forget to smile!

M,. you should have stay with the exercise even if it hurt and also . Give a little more time to yourself . Take care of yourself and don't worry so much about where things should be in the house. etc.

I started a month ago , but I didn't go nowhere.
Why? I am finding everything I do tiresome and very difficult. I am trying to continue and get somewhere with my fight for a better life. My health has been going down in the last 5 years. I am 73 and recently I am experiencing quite a bit of pain with this injury of a sciatic nerve. Of course that has nothing to do with my continued to eat things are not beneficial for me. I believe depression is the cause of wanting more sweets, is my weakne

I would definitely tell my younger self to stop being so hard on myself. I was so convinced that I was fat and ugly that I made myself miserable. Even after I lost a significant amount of weight I was never good enough because the scale wouldn't go below 132 pounds. I realize now that its not about the number, but it took far too long for me to be able to admit to that.

give up the soda pop-I have

give up the nitrates-I have cut back

cut way back on the sugar-trying to do this

There's is only one thing I would tell the younger me (TYM).

No, on the contrary. There's only one thing I could say to TYM that TYM MIGHT have understood.

What's that?

Spend a lot of your fitness/athletics/weight training time on building a stronger core. And when you do so, always favor slower, less ballistic, lower impact, less invasive exercise over the opposite.

I would tell myself to keep my weight under control at all times. The older you get, the harder it is to lose, and it becomes a trial to lose at age 65 the 5 pounds you gained at 35.

Spend less time sitting down. Eat and drink (alcohol) less. Don't start smoking. Leggings are evil. Don't allow your waist to get bigger than 30" unless pregnant. Appreciate the time more with your young children. Don't waste so much money. Make an effort to stay in touch with your friends. Find a fitness activity you like and do it at least once a week. Carpe diem.

Only I can make this happen.

I'd tell younger me to lift heavy things. Often. And to actively work on being strong.
Life is so much easier when you have strength and can be independent - whether it's just being able to carry all the shopping from the car in one trip, or being able to move furniture without help. And the physical strength seems to translate into mental and emotional strength.

Plus lifting heavy things doesn't make you look like a gorilla - it makes you look hot!

About fitness and exercise? I'd tell 20 year old me that when she quit that active job, she needed to replace the exercise BEFORE things got out of hand. And I'd tell 15 year old me that smoking just to tick off her mom was stupid!

But the most important thing I'd tell young me --- STOP WASTING YOUR DAMNED MONEY! Put it in the bank.

What would I tell a younger me about fitness and exercise?
Develop good habits when you are young. Do not put it off until tomorrow or next year. Life passes so quickly. You may have to pay the piper someday for how you cared for your body today.
Make fitness and exercise a way of life for your children so they don't have to learn the same hard lessons later. Make exercise family fun.

The little things you do each day are going to become habits.

The way you talk to yourself will become part of who you are. Those cruel things (and don't give me "oh but they are true" bs) you say to yourself many times a day - would you ever say that stuff to a friend, or even a stranger?! Would you even think it?! If not, then stop saying it to yourself. Stop NOW. One day you will realize how ridiculous and maladaptive your self-talk is and you will struggle to change it because it has become just ingrained in you to treat yourself poorly.

Mom is NOT a nutritionist! Those jerks in school are jealous, SERIOUSLY GIRL! Once you grow into your own skin you will realize that with your habits of hiking and swimming and stretching 24/7 have you looking like someone you will see in the magazines soon Christy Brinkley. Sure you don't have a 22 inch waist like Mom, you have a six pack! Your legs?? Body builders would KILL for your calves! And do NOT hide the girls! It is impossible and THAT is what many negative people are REALLY jealous of, including Mom! Why do you think that she introduces you as "the daughter with the most"? (She seriously said that ALL the time!!). 600 Calories a day and 2 hours of exercise will screw your metabolism up for life. Oh and don't be so shy and mean to all the guys staring at you, they are staring because they like you, try talking to some once in a while!

Remember no matter where you go, there you are!!!
