It's a personal decision. I actually find that cardio helps me to feel better and strangely enough, I have more energy when I exercise with a cold. I definitely take the day off if I'm suffering from the flu or stomach issues.
It's up to you, there is never anything wrong with taking a day off when you're sick and need a rest. Listen to your body.
