SW: 241 2-25-2013
First Goal: 215 Lbs (Met Goal 8/1/2013)- Got down to 201 before I got married in November and had a bit of a "hiccup" in my weight loss... back at it in Feb 2014 :)
Second Goal: 196 Lbs (out of OBESITY BMI range)
Third Goal: 164 lbs (into NORMAL BMI range)


Ultimate goal is 150 lbs or so, but taking it one step at a time!

Thanks for the pic. That helped :)

I would probably measure 1/2 way between the narrow part of your waist and your belly button, because you should see a lot of progress that way, and it's far enough away from your hips that it won't interfere with that measurement.

4.5- 5 inches.

How far off from 1/2 inch is the narrowest part?

I guess that's true, but I also want to make sure I get to the recommended 35 inches or less so I need to know where that should be measured.

What's most important is that you're consistent, wherever you decide to measure. If you want to measure at your narrowest point (even if it's not 1/2 inch above your belly button), that's okay.

Based on this article, I have been measuring 1/2 above my belly button, but that is not my narrowest point!

Where do I really need to measure for an accurate waist measurement?
