I'm having the opposite I'm losing inches, but my weight is staying the same. Possibly from muscle growth since muscle weighs more than fat

So .5 inches on my waist since last measurement.. and nothing else budging except my weight. My weight is going down but I don't seem to be loosing inches not even a fraction and it's going up. Can someone explain it to me? I know .5 inch isnt drastic or anything but I'm just wondering.
