I will listen to my body, I just finished 7.2 miles today... I feel great.. not sure what tomorrow will bring... I HEART all of my post responders... Thank you!!!

Love your excitement and enthusiasm, but you might want to slow down a bit. Running puts incredible stress on your body. Your muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons all need time to adapt to the strain and impact forces. Not progressing more slowly puts you at risk for injury and imbalances, like shin splints, stress fractures, etc. Pace yourself so you have many more happy, healthy miles ahead of you. I'm a newer runner myself, but I'm sure some of the vets here will have some sage advice.

Good for you! For the longest time I was mentally afraid that I couldn't get past a mile, but I broke through that and am now doing a 2 mile run in about 16 minutes. I have gone as far as four miles, but never five. Congrats to you!

Hey Song,

That is so awesome you have a goal in mind. Do you have a training program or a guide to help schedule runs? I'm using this for a Marathon I'm planning in the spring, what is nice is there are different programs for different distances and fitness levels:

I'm doing it... All my life I wanted to be a runner and I am finally doing it... Perhaps I'm not as fast as I want to be but I am going to go long...
