I have the Polar Loop and I really like it. All of these devices have trade-offs. Do your research and find one that fits your needs. It is nice to get feedback on your activities.

I'm really liking mine so far. I need to recalibrate it though because it doesn't get close to the distance/calories/ etc that my elliptical machine is telling me that I am doing. I think that's because the tracker thinks I am cycling when I am actually on the elliptical. I reclassify it--but it still has the calories/distance wrong.
Oh well, I don't mind, it still has the time so that's fine :)

When I got mine, after like two days it was already at around 73% charged.

Isn't the battery supposed to last a year?

Has anyone else had this experience? I got mine from Amazon

Thanks

Amanda

I have an obsession with pedometers and have about 7 of them that all function. So far, my favorite is an Omron. The reason bought that is I used to work for a robotics company and we always bought Omron industrial counters for the production lines. I also bought one for my knitting machine - yep made an industrial counter work on my knitting machine.
I would like to buy one more Omron which syncs the same way that the others do only it goes to omronfitness.com
I'm wondering if it would also work here or if I'd still have to manually enter my daily activity. My current tracker has the dual mode where it tracks every step and has a separate reading for walking over 3 mph, keeps a running tally until I reset and remembers the past 7 days.

I bought one and I love it. Very easy to connect to my computer and seems to track my steps very well. I like that it can distinguish between casual walking and an actual workout. Doesn't always get the time right but I can live with that.

I have mine primarily hooked up to my office laptop since I don't have my home computer up and running at all times. I have had it hold data over a two, three and four day weekend which works well when you forget to take it home at night. emoticon

Does anybody know how long the Spark will retain data? My Spark is synced to my desktop at home as my laptop does not meet the functioning ability to have it synced there. I am going out of town for a few days with my Spark and I am wondering if when I get home it will still sync my information for each day I was gone?

You can have two devices linked to Spark but then your workouts will be doubled. I had my Bodymedia before I got my Spark Tracker and I still wear my Bodymedia along with my Spark Tracker, but I unlinked my Bodymedia from Spark since I didn't want to have my workouts recorded twice. Now just my Spark Tracker is linked to Spark but I can see all my Bodymedia info on my wrist display and at the Bodymedia site.

Does anyone know if a person can sync two devises to spark? I have a fitbit, which is synced adn I love. I would get the spark because I like the flashing lights, and spark points but don't want to give up my fitbit.

To remove the device:

- Open up the SparkPeople Connect application.
- Click on your device.
- Click on the Remove link.

Hope that helps,

I bought one to compare with my Fitbit 1. I prefer the Fitbit but it is a more expensive investment. I like being able to see the number of steps when ever and where ever I want. Problem now is how to remove Spark Activity Tracker software from my pc so that my Fitbit will sync with Sparkpeople.

Any ideas? Thanks

@Mavis,

I returned my spark activity tracker a couple of weeks ago after ten days of use due to frustration with syncing problems. I bought the Fitbit Zip. I love it. Absolutely no problems and no frustration with my Fitbit.

I completed a request to have UPS pick my tracker up to return it to amazon.com. After trying to connect it to my sparkpeople account numerous times for a week, I finally realized that amazon.com probably sent me a tracker that had been returned by someone else. That is why I kept getting an error report stating that authentication failed because the device was registered to another user. I should have suspected that in the first place as the package containing the tracker had two stickers with two different product codes. One sticker was yellow and one sticker was white. When I tried connecting the device, my computer detected the product code on the white sticker, but then when I tried to log in with my sparkpeople User ID and password, I received the error code. I would advise anyone who orders from amazon.com to be suspicious if the tracker arrives with two different product code stickers.
One good thing about this aggravating experience was that it gave me time to engage in some cool reflection. I realized this was nothing more than "impulse buying" and that I really did not need this very expensive pedometer anyway.

bought one used it for two weeks to compare to my fitbit one and the one did a better job than the tracker. tracker missed over 24K steps in one week that the fit bit picked up.

also had lots of syncing issues

it was returned last week

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? I will pass, because I have enough fitness monitors now. I don't need to add another one on. I've been wearing BodyMedia for awhile and have a Timex heart monitor. I get all the information I need between the two. It was tempting, but I have to pass. Enjoy your Spark trackers! emoticon

it doesn't track swimming as swimming, but it will track it as activity. that was what one of the coaches said.
When and if my One bites the dust, I will look into buying one.

For all those who weren't sure of the name-
the zip is just a basic pedometer
the one is a pedometer that measures stairs, has cute sayings, step tracker, sleep tracker and calories burned
the flex is water resistant but doesn't measure stairs but does everything else the one does
The force which is new to fitbit is like the one in that it measures stairs but is water resistant as well. teh flex and force fit on the wrist.

I purchased one last week and tried to install and connect it to my account yesterday to no avail. I am waiting to hear from support. Apparently it will take one business day for them to get back to me.

I previously received a FITBIT as a Christmas gift and really enjoyed using it until I lost it. I will let you know how I like the spark activity tracker once I get it up and running.

I was going to put it on my birthday wish list for next month, but I'm reading mixed opinions here. (I do very much appreciate people sharing their thoughts with using it!)
Maybe I'll wait since I do have a quality pedometer. And $60 is not a "have-to-have" in terms of priority purchasing.

Since I still have a lot of time on my Bodymedia subscription, I'm wearing both Bodymedia and the Spark at the same time. At first they differed in steps but once I figured out that my shoe was the best place to wear my Spark, I can walk between 10,000-15,000 steps a day with just a small difference in steps, between the two devices.

Did anyone do a side by side comparison using the Activity Tracker and a pedometer.
I would always wear a pedometer and would reach about 7000 steps before I did any of my walking work outs. That is just around the house, errands and cleaning. With the Activity Tracker I am only reaching about 4000 doing the same things. I am clipping it on my waist band, maybe that's not a good place? Any ideas?
