especially if you have any other symptoms of low thyroid, talk to your doctor about it :)

one thing I didn't realize is that there is more than one blood test for low thyroid. alot of doctors only order the basic test, not the in depth one. the basic test can show that everything is fine when that is not the case. so if you have symptoms........

The slimmer I am, the colder I get.

The last time I got down below 160, I was cold constantly, especially at night. I'd watch TV in regular pajamas and thick socks under an outfit of footie pajamas, a sweatshirt, and a quilt. Sometimes even a stocking cap. LOL. Never anything wrong with my thyroid, either, but it's probably worth getting that checked out. :)

Sure, exercise might help a bit. However, this is a classic sign of thyroid problems, so you should mention this to your doctor.

SETTIMIA: Your feeling cold could simply be a mild affliction you have. I often feel cold and can have things like grabbing a handful of ice from the freezer or having the AC blow on my legs make me feel cold. I have a mild form of Raynaud's disease/syndrome, which occasionally makes me feel cold no matter how warm it is where I am at. It can be caused by things like typing on a computer, running a power tool, feeling stress, losing weight too fast, etc.

So maybe it is more than just the changing of the seasons?

For me exercise helps a little bit. However, I still feel cold after I eat and immediately after I stop sweating from exercise. I find it best to just have layers that I can grab when I need to warm up.

Wool socks a great for walking or running, I have smartwool socks.

You should discuss this with a doctor, however, exercise does make you feel warmer for only for a short time after, unless you're active throughout the day, exercise isn't your best solution.

No, if anything you feel colder because you are loosing fat. That's what happened to me! I was always, I am always, and assume that will always be cold :P you should check if your anemic and your thyroid. I know that an abnormality in either of those can contribute to body temperature. good luck :D

It's better to be sore, then sorry.

Thank you for your reply. No this is not a new problem, I always have cold hands and feet, and feel the cold terribly. That is why I love the hot weather and feel at my happiest. But saying that I am trying to embrace this weather, and wet out in the rain to walk, the first time and once I had warmed up, I loved it.

When the weather changes, it can take some time for our bodies to adjust to it. Do you find that the problem subsides eventually? Is this a new thing, or something you've always had to deal with? Any socks you wear while exercising should be made of wicking material to pull moisture away from your body.

If this is a new problem or it seems to have gotten worse, you might want to mention it to your doctor just to be safe.

Yes that is what I am finding......what are burpees and mountain climbers?

Feet are constantly cold, in the winter, even though I wear two pairs of socks

If you get up and do even 1 minute of intense exercise, that will warm you right up! But that effect is only temporary. Try burpees, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, etc.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

This may sound strange but as the weather is changing, I am constantly feeling cold. Will exercise help with my circulation, my feet are always cold and I tend to wear layers when out walking so that I can take off and put back on when I need. Indoors I feel cold when sitting down, too early to put on the heating and it is not even that cold outside.

Any tips or ideas? Do I need to get wool socks for walking and if so which are the best?

Thank you

emoticon this is my cold face
