I agree on the heart rate monitor. Since wearing one, I've found that the readout on the machine I use matches my HRM within about 20 calories, and that Spark underestimates by about 100 cals. Your mileage may vary, but hopefully that helps.

Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.

I agree: a Heart Rate Monitor will give a more accurate reading especially if the elliptical can read the signal from your heart rate monitor.

You would need to wear a heart rate monitor and track that.

The information on the machine itself (if it has that) may be more accurate than Spark. At least the machine knows your intensity settings.

Does anyone know if there is a way to log an elliptical workout more accurately? I see that you can log the amount of minutes worked out on the elliptical, but it does not givn the option to log incline or resistance to more accurately gauge the intensity of the workout. Thanks!
