LYSADELL:: I would never recommend cardio weight training. Period. I've been an athlete for quite some time, and the few times I've taken cardio weight training classes I nearly tore my left forearm muscle, my right knee, and almost hurt my back... if you are interested in intensive weight training, then I would talk to a trainer who can spot you, or a good friend you trust who knows how to spot! :)
Weight training is wonderful, and right now I'm learning MMA, but I like to do concentrated weight training - just one thing, one weight, at one time (i.e. 12 reps of one move with one weight, then on to something else as opposed to a billion different moves with a billion different weights all at once).
I encourage you to find what works for you, though. not all things are for all people! So perhaps you have the physique that can handle it.
