LYSADELL:: I would never recommend cardio weight training. Period. I've been an athlete for quite some time, and the few times I've taken cardio weight training classes I nearly tore my left forearm muscle, my right knee, and almost hurt my back... if you are interested in intensive weight training, then I would talk to a trainer who can spot you, or a good friend you trust who knows how to spot! :)

Weight training is wonderful, and right now I'm learning MMA, but I like to do concentrated weight training - just one thing, one weight, at one time (i.e. 12 reps of one move with one weight, then on to something else as opposed to a billion different moves with a billion different weights all at once).

I encourage you to find what works for you, though. not all things are for all people! So perhaps you have the physique that can handle it.

Anywho - have a wonderful weekend! emoticon

A kettlebell which is lighter than your purse or a bag of flour will be outgrown very quickly if use correctly and regularly. As Zorbs stated the kettlebells in the promo video are far too light.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Eat well to lose weight, exercise to get fit

I love my kettlebells. I purchased a set of 3 at aldi!!. A friend's trainer was nice enough to show me the proper way to use them ,to avoid injury. I do about 25 min 3days a week, and love em!! I think you will too:]

As far as KB form goes, it's not perfect but I have certainly seen far worse. The KBs used are far too light. As for being easy on the knees, it's the kickbox moves that look like they would hurt a lot more than the KB moves.

I kinda thought they where a bit much on the knees. I was watching the girl on the right - front - she seemed to be the modifier and her moves were good but it seemed to me she didn't want to be there.

Think my mind is changing on this... Thank you. You've answered questions I've had in the past and has been helpful.

In reviewing the promo video I noted two things, it is not easy on the knees and some of the kettlebell moves are done in bad form. I strongly doubt the claims made as to rate of progress and calories burned per session.

Zorbs, you are certified as a kettlebell instructor care to evaluate the kettlebell moves and the weight of the kettlebells used?

The traditional KB exercises (swing, clean, snatch etc.) are zero impact and therefore easy on the knees.

Has anyone heard of kettlebell kickboxing or has anyone done it? It claims to be an effective workout as well as intense but it also claims to be easy on your joints. Any feedback please. I'm coming off of double knee surgery I'm interested in this but I need to know if this is joint friendly. Thanks.
