But, the short answer is no. At least not necessarily. The Spark eating plan just has you consume less calories than you burn to create a deficit that results in weight loss - and to do this while meeting healthy nutrition goals in terms of amount of protein, fats, vitamins, etc that your body needs to be healthy. Many people find that eating low glycemic foods helps to achieve these goals. Others find that low glycemic helps to curb glucose/insulin swings that give them urges for more sweets.
