Have you looked at your local playgrounds for places to climb? They might not have ropes but a lot of playgrounds have a fireman's-pole thingy that you could try climbing.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

Most of rope climbing is about technique, and using your lower body to push yourself up the rope, rather than 'brute forcing' it with upper body strength.

Okay, so it sounds like a dumb question - How do I train for a rope climb? I mean, just climb a rope, duh! I get that. But I have questions.

1.) How do I find a place to actually climb a rope? I've never, ever done this before, I have no idea where to start.

2.) What other weight training or exercises would be good to support rope climbing?

Right now I don't have a real weight routine - just doing the Bodypump class at the gym, 2 to 3 times a week.
