Jessica Smith posted a video that features her husband showing common kickboxing mistakes. She also has some kickboxing videos on DVD and YouTube.

Doing a tae-bo type video will be most helpful if you really listen to the instructions on form for both punches and kicks. Things like your stance, bending your knees, where your knee/toes should point for the different kicks will give you idea for when you actually kick on a bag.
Knowing to never lock out your elbow, height of the punches, and how to engage your core when you punch will help too. But it is probably worth hiring a trainer experienced in boxing/kickboxing to avoid injury while you learn the basics of punching and kicking on a bag.

I saw your other post about ideas for working out. I know it's not kickboxing but have you thought about Taebo? Billy Blanks has a bunch of dvd's for Taebo (combines Taekwondo and Kickboxing). There is one that is called Billy Blanks Taebo Express. It has 8 10 minute workouts that I think would be helpful if you're trying to learn the basics yet still get a great workout. You can combine several of them and get an amazing workout (several of the workouts deal with the punches and the footwork). It's worth it to take a look. You should be able to find it at Walmart for about $10 (one time investment, totally worth it). Here's a link to his site: www.taebo.com/dvd/video/.

I know it's not kickboxing directly but it might help.

I found that I like to hit the heavy bag at the gym ( gloves of course) I do wish there was a kickboxing class around here :(. I did look up some videos on youtube about how to box. I'm not really sure I'm doing it right lol. I do put my right foot in the back and then do sort of like a jab-jab-jab with some cross overs add some kicks into it. Some uper cuts. The only kicks I do though are from the side. I do try with my left one to only to look like a drunk ballerina.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who could give me a few pointers. I do this on satudays last day of my workout week to relieve alot of stress and the time goes by so quickly.
