be careful with it because you can injure yourself by pushing really hard, increasing your mile time should be a long slow and gradual process. :)

I run 400's every other week ("sprint" a lap, walk a lap, repeat). I usually do between 4 and 8 400's. This really helps me speed up my mile!

Cutting your time down takes a long time. Don't worry about your time. If you run too fast or too hard or too much you will break your body down and not be able to run at all. Be careful not to crash and burn. Like the tortoise and the hare....slow and steady wins the race.

the easiest way to get faster is to run more miles slowly.

When I was just messing around with running, I ran 1 mile in 12:xx.

Now that I've run 8 marathons, I can run 1 mile in under 7:30.
