I get these when I've eaten too close to my workout, if you're eating within 1-2 hours of a strenuous workout, you may want to try moving that a little further out.

I get the pain when I'm not properly hydrated. Try drinking some more water during the morning/afternoon to see if that helps too!

I call them side stitches. The way to prevent them (at least for me) is to drink a little more water and improve my cardiovascular fitness because you're right, they come from inefficient breathing. That being said, the best way to deal with them once you've got them is to exhale when the foot opposite the side stitch hits the ground. It forces the diaphragm to de-spasm and the stitch should be gone in about 10 steps.

I have started experiencing painful cramps in my right side while I'm doing cardio. I think it's my diaphragm. It's not all the time, and it comes on gradually but then takes a bit to go away. I could be running, doing Zumba(actually come to think of it, happens a bit more here) or doing Turbo Jam.
Considering the area, it's probably my breathing but I'm wondering if there is anything I can be doing to prevent these cramps from happening in the first place or quite possibly some supplement I should consider. I had a friend suggest more potassium. Should I just eat a banana at lunch every workout day?(I workout in the afternoon)
As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated!
