In theory, it doesn't really matter. There are other things to take into account when making your decision, some of which have already been mentioned.
1. Are you a morning person? If not, like me, then I choose to exercise at night because my morning workouts are only half-baked and I tend to injure myself.
2. Do you have a busy schedule in the evening or are you setting yourself up for failure?
3. How do you eat? Lots of folks "save" their calories for the evening meal so they can eat with their families. If you do, it may be tough to workout on a super full stomach.
