Hey we sound alike which is why I am avoiding pizza like the plague lol....... It is the one food I am afraid of, and the one food I love most. I feel your pain, but don't let it keep you down. So you slipped up and over indulged. It isn't the end of the world. Dust yourself off and do better tomorrow. It is a new day and a great day to begin again..............................

This is my life.... I am taking it back!!!!!!!

I LOVE pizza. like when I order a small pizza I will literally sit and eat nearly all of it .
the other day I had the option of ordering out for dinner and instead of ordering the pizza knowing I was just gonna overeat I opted for a turkey sub with cheese lettuce and mayo and a few sips of dr. pepper which I think is better

Pizza and sweets are my weakness as well! Just wake up and start anew....do not wait until Monday since I have done that and it meant more pizza for me LOL It truly happens so just remember that you feel guilty this time and next time you'll have one slice with a big ole salad and cold water ;)

been there....done that.

most of the time now if I have pizza, I'm good with a slice or two. but last month I ate almost a whole rising crust frozen pizza by myself. (it was over a several hour time period, but STILL) I finally through the last piece in the rats cage or I would have eaten it too.

and most of the others said, it not the end of the world (or the end of the "diet") ONE evening of eating too much pizza isn't what got me to where I am today.

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.

Pizza is my downfall too! I have managed to go from any form of meat pizza to just plan cheese and put a limit of two small slices on myself. Hang in there because we all fall off the wagon from time to time.

"Ok 5 slices of pizza is too much, even if this hurts your feelings. We are here for you and to tell you the truth.. I've been there, and you have to be really be ready to commit to a lifestyle change.."

The really good thing about a lifestyle change is that it's yours and yours alone. You don't have to be accountable to anyone but yourself. So if you're enjoying pizza and want to have 5 slices, go for it. I certainly am not going to condemn you and tell you you're eating too much because it's not my business.

5 slices? You go girl! Now wipe that cheese off your chin, grab a bottle of water and move on!

Pizza has got to be my biggest downfall...I just LOVE it so much. The mom and pop type...Not the chain pizzas (like Pizza Hut, Dominos...no). I have one place in town that is just to die for. I go for a slice every once in awhile, but I can totally down a whole pie there if I let myself.

I recently came across VitaPizza. Now, it's not like "real" pizza at all, but it's okay for 190 calories for the whole thing (And by "whole thing", still isn't very big, but at least it's portion controlled!) I recommend them if you can find them :)

I went way off my "diet" yesterday - I won't say what I ate for fear of being judged. None of us need that - It's just not helpful. No one can beat me up better than I beat myself up after "falling off the wagon." This is a struggle we're all going through. Just get back to trying again to better. That's what I'm trying to do. We all have our weaknesses. Now, if you put a cheese cake in front of me . . . or even some fresh bakery rye bread with cream cheese . .. I'm in big trouble ;) Are you giving yourself a little treat every now and then so you don't feel too deprived? I find that helps.

Best of luck!

Eating right 100% of the time is definitely a challenge. We're going to run into some bumps along the way. What matters is how you work through it. Think about what you can do differently next time, yet don't beat yourself up over this. You have the power to move forward and you will continue to succeed. Don't let this deter you from continuing to work towards your goals.

Been there! There was a time when I could finish a whole large pizza, and I wondered why I was so big!! We all still have those days, even if we won't admit it. Maybe we had a bad day, or waited to long to eat or whatever, it happens learn from it and move on.
I like to start with a salad and then I cut my slice in half, close my eyes enjoy, I then have to get up get my other half, I always plan on two full slices but any more I'm full by one. But you have to find what works for you.

Wow BOB240 I thought this forum was about supporting each other in both the highs and lows. Your "have some self respect" comment was very rude and I am sure quite hurtful to the op. I hope that in the future, while you may have what ever thoughts you may like, rude or other wise, please at the very least refrain from posting the rude ones.

OP take a deep breath let it out and remember it is not the end of the world. You will do better tomorrow.

Just keep swimmin'... just keep swimmin'... :)

(My friends and I used to have weekly pizza-eating races in high school to see who could eat an entire large pizza the fastest, within the 15-minute afternoon break... What were we thinking?!)

Seriously? Some people are drawn to Belgium chocolate cake, others to pizza. I'm not sure how room temperature chocolate in flour is less similar mouthful after mouthful than warmed up cheese and tomato . . . we like what we like. The goal is to be healthy within the lifestyle we choose, not all conform to the same taste preferences.

What size of pizza are we talking? If you had 5 slices of a small, it's not nearly as bad as 5 slices as a large or xl. It even comes down to toppings, although given my love of meat topped pizzas, I'm just going to assume it was some form of meat-lovers emoticon

Here's the thing, at the end of the day, no food is off limits. My husband and I went to a movie last week and planned to eat after the show, only we couldn't get tickets for the one we wanted to go to, just the one starting an hour later - not giving us time to go find a healthy option. So we opted for a giant slice of cheese pizza each with our giant bag o' popcorn. I was convinced that I'd be way out of my calories for the day. So much so that I didn't even finish the pizza or the popcorn. Or the diet coke I ordered because it was diet, even though I hate pop.

When I entered my food into the tracker later that evening, I discovered that I could've eaten the whole slice of pizza and been all right because I purposefully eat at the lower end of my calorie range, giving me a couple hundred extra calories, just in case.

My point is actually supposed to be that by not making things like pizza "off limits" I can have a single piece without feeling like I've completely ruined any healthy eating I've done to that point. Making it less likely for me to say, "Well, I had one piece, might as well finish the pie!"

But even having 5 slices of pizza isn't the end of the world. It just is. It may slow your progress. It may even cause a gain if it's something you do frequently. But it isn't something you can undo once it's done. So you just accept it and move on with healthier choices next time.

Here's the good news. Pizza is really not that bad of a cheat meal. A slice of pizza is only 150 to 200 calories. So worse scenario you only consumed about a 1000 calories.

It happens. Use it at as a learning experience and figure out a strategy to help you next time you come across situation "pizza".

You could;

a) Have a salad before pizza so you don't attack it when you're super hungry (this usually leads to eating too quickly and not savouring your treat as well as overindulging). Make sure pizza is not the only thing in your meal. Pair it with something else... salads usually work with pizza.
b) Prepare yourself. If you know pizza is coming, decide beforehand how many pieces you will need to be full.
c) Once you eat your predetermined slices. Take a 15-20 minute break. Don't spend it staring at the pizza box either! Do something else for a spell; chat, go outside and get some fresh air, drink a glass of water, have a tea/coffee, wash the dishes etc. Seriously, this works. It takes about that long for your brain to cue in that you're full. If you're still hungry after, have an apple (or something low in cals but satisfying) for "dessert".

"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. If you don't want to get bulky, lift heavy!

I can bench Nicole Richie, eat more than she does in a day before noon, I have a good 20 lbs on her but could still wear her pants.

I've had the pizza problem myself so don't beat yourself up about it, just try to plan better when you do have pizza next time. Have some salad first and try and moderate your pizza consumption to a slice or two for your meal~
