Insanity is am absolutely amazing workout that is great for everyone because you can modify every single exercise until you are able to genuinely keep up with Shaun T. You mentioned that it is at your gym, so I am certain there you can also modify things. For example....push ups too hard, go on your knees...jacks too much, move arms and shuffle side to side....burpees kick your butt, do slow mountain climbers.
I love following his workouts and it is a great feeling of accomplishment when you are able to do exactly what he does. Even then you can ramp it up by increasing speed, being lighter ony our feet, etc.
Pushing ourselves is a good thing, but know your true limitations so that you are hitting your goals and not hurting yourself. I have done insanity and his asylum afterwards....both are great and truly fun!
