good morning all. Thanks Pattimet for checking in and giving us words of encouragement. Feel free to stop by anytime. Jacky - hope your weigh-in is successful today.

Yesterday was a day of rest and I fell off the wagon with food. But today is a new day and a new beginning. I started off good - but by the afternoon it was just junk!

Since it will be hot & humid all week I think I will just do the treadmill inside this week.

Here comes your manicure! What are you doing to workout today? I just did my boxing for an hour with crazy built in cardio like burpees and jacks.

Hope your finding you motivation on Spark - keep it up. Feel free to look me up for motivation any time. I found one of my best motivations was to sign up for activities such as 5k and my latest was a triathlon, I tell my friends and coworkers what I'm doing - this pushes me to train and keep on pushing - also gives me new goals. I did my first triathlon on June 30th and have signed up for the next one on September 22nd. So I will continue to train so that I can be sure to improve my time.

Was having some computer issues - so if this is duplicate response or delayed, please forgive.

My weigh in day is Friday morning. And this week was good, as I lost the weight I gained during the 4th of July long weekend. So, I'm back to start at 169.

Didn't 'work out' today but I did a lot of shoveling/heavy gardening. We had a pile of dirt that we needed to move, so it was a big job and am glad to say it is done!!! One more day of working hard in the yard/firepit and we are done for the year. Can enjoy it from here on out...besides, I'm tired of being dirty sweaty and having dirt under my nails! I think I may treat myself to a manicure of massage -when I hit the 5# lost mark.

Awesome job! It feels awesome when we get our workout in. Marshmallows are a forgotten thought LOL

I went boxing today and ate well, minus a little extra dressing on a salad because I just couldn't help myself :) I figure my large calorie burns needed a little more dressing today hehe

Tomorrow I am going to kickbox I believe and then my kiddo has a regional swim meet all weekend, so Saturday I will run and then head back to boxing on Sunday.

Do you have a set day that you weigh in? My days are going to be Mondays!

I did it! I went to the track and ran/ walked for .5 hour. Feel great,albeit a little wobbly. Have a great.night everyone.

Good morning all! I did not get home in time to hit the treadmill last night, but I did do some heavy gardening/lifting instead.
Today's plan of activity - to hit the local High School track after work. And as usual a stroll during my break time (4 blocks, twice a day).
On a good note today, when I was packing my lunch last night, I didn't have any fruit for today. So, I woke up a few mins early, and hit the grocery store to pick up banana/nectarine/peach - that will keep me away from the vending machine at work :) And way cheaper too!

What's your plan for today?

It's a mix of cardio and weights. Our regular guy focuses a lot on weights. We get to use the amount of weight that we want. There is cardio mixed in there - jumping jacks, running in place, jump squats, high knees, etc. And then at least once a week the last 10-15 minutes are ab work. Another trainer fills in sometimes and she's more of a body weight only trainer. We do very little with weights on those days.

Hello there!

The car show sounds fun! Your meal idea also sounds like a good one. Today I had a mega killer workout. I did a personal training session with my trainer and then tacked on a 60m boxing session......feel like a million bucks and killed over 1000 calories.

I ate well after I got home, now to just shower and be able to raise my arm to wash my hair would be good LOL

Don't beat yourself up about the impromptu snack last night, we all have those days. Next time that puffy delicious-ness is calling you, think about how annoyed you were after and don't do it!!!

What is body pump class? I do notice a little 'good' hurt in the legs today, which means I can still do it, and my body wants me to get back in shape. So, for sure tonight I will try running on the treadmill. Today's lunch was a small soft taco - beans, no meat. I used to eat 2 of them when I would go out for lunch. (I eat out for lunch only once every 2 weeks, otherwise I bring my lunch). I figured I would stuff the taco with the grilled zuchini I brought from home. Delicious!! I've started to grill my zuchini on my Foreman grill.
I've checked the nutrition tracker and since it's a pig roast, I'll be just fine. You get to add the sauce on the side, and I can be fine with either no sauce or just a little bit.

Tonight is my body pump class. I'm actually still sore from class on Monday. He worked our legs the majority of the time with barbell squats, jump squats, and jump lunges. Tonight will probably be worse. I'm planning to spend a little quality time with the treadmill too. :)

Morning all! I hope today is going to be a good day for all.

As usual, after I finished logging off Sparkpeople, I sat down to watch tv, and wolfed down some un-needed food. marshmallows, 1.2 choc bar, etc. Ugh! Even though I worked out yesterday - there was was no NEED for that pigout! I must stop that unsightly behavior, as that is my downfall.

Tonight I have a fancy BBQ/car show to attend. BBQ will be ok, I don't care for their desserts so I'll be ok there. I don't care for store bought cookies/bars, I can pass them up. My plan is to have some BBQ, no bun, small salad, diet soda (or water) and then to walk around & drool over the cars.

What's your plan for exercise today? I plan to stroll at the car show, and if I'm home early enough some time on the treadmill.

A fitness buddy sounds good right now. I am in a funk. It's hot, the kids are out of school and I have been finding it very difficult the past few months to hit the gym when I was going 5-6 days a week for years.

I also struggle with eating and staying on a lean diet. I set my goal 4 years ago and haven't met it yet, but the good news I haven't put any weight back on within a few pounds or so.

I think an online buddy sounds great!

Welcome Pamlico-Daze.

We are hoping that by being fitness buddies, we can motivate & inspire each other. We all have our little things that we need help with be it nutrition or working out.

I need a push to get off the couch at night, and to stop mindless eating at night. Daytime, I'm just fine, but come evening I have a tough time.

I am also trying to just lose 5# a month and take it slow. (More would be great, but #5 a month is fine).

Today, nothing so far. We are taking the kidlet to see Despicable Me tonight so there probably won't be any workouts tonight. Last night was body pump class plus walking around Walmart. That gave me a little over 12000 steps. Tomorrow is another body pump class, and then depending on what we do in class, probably a little me time on the treadmill. :)

I need someone to kick my butt into gear on eating breakfast again. I was doing really well, but then missed a couple days and I'm finding it hard to start back up. I just don't feel like eating in the mornings.

Welcome Kannnd!

We just started this thread this week - so we can begin together and keep motivated!
I must say I did not get any walking in last night, as it was raining outside & then I had company. I know, I could've walked on my treadmill after they left, but I did not.
I did, however, find my MP3 player and charged it up - it has US Army Rangers cadence on it, so I tried running at lunch today. I probably made a .5 mile before I had to quit and walk the rest. So I did a walk/run for 20 mins today. and plan to walk with my Mom this evening (it'll be a stroll, but hey it's off the couch!).

What did you do for fitness today? Are you staying on track with nutrition?

I will have to post my old picture as motivation. Believe me though - I won't be that skinny ever again. I was fresh out of boot camp and weighed 119 lbs! I'd be so happy to just be in the 150's.
I'm glad I don't live in AZ - I cannot stand hot weather (I'm also going through hot flashes this summer). I live in MI - and we are having a nice, normal summer. I have a big garden, and will be eating some fresh green beans tonight :)
What are your nutrition issues? Not enough water? Dairy? too many processed foods? Let me know if/where I can help you -

It's awesome that you will head to the track after work to get the rest of your mileage in. Ughhhh I wish it would rain here to kill out 115 little. I'm in AZ and it is quite gross out these days. You very much can be what you miss from 25 years ago...and we'll get to our goals in no time.

I also know someone that literally dropped over 55 lbs from only walking....no weights or anything else....but of course 90% is nutrition, hence my issue! I posted an older picture of me from about 2 years ago that is my goal weight of about 155 lbs. I will weight in each Monday to attempt to not cheat on the weekends when my kiddo is home and I am more free.

Well, I wanted to walk outside today - but it's now raining. So, on break I will walk the parking ramp twice (which is one mile). When the rain stops, hopefully after work, I plan to visit to local high school track.
I went to a garage sale this weekend and the gal there said she lost 40 lbs this past year by walking that track & doing Weight Watchers. I bought all her fat clothes ... then told myself I need to get myself in gear. I also saw an old picture of myself and a recent picture of myself. I don't like what I saw in the recent picture. Granted, I know I cannot go back 25 years - but I can at least lose 15 lbs by Halloween. That is my goal, 5 lbs a month.
