Sounds like a good plan to me. As long as you feel challenged each class, I'd go for it. Most recommendations for ST are full body 2-3 times a week so your muscles have time to recover.

I have recently started a class at my gym. It is a functional training class. We do body weight exercises, TRX, Kettlebells, run, weights, resistance bands, flip big tires, and a few other things. The circuits vary every class to keep it fresh so we don't get bored.

My question is... should I be doing additional strength training in addition to this class? Or is this class sufficient? My goals are to gain strength, and decrease my body fat% from about 26% to around 17-20%.

I've got the cardio part covered - we run laps in this class, I ride my bike, swim, do intervals, walk/hike, and whatever else tickles my fancy at the time.

Oh, I do the class 2x's a week.

Thanks in advance
