Start slow and small distances. When I started biking again after years and years of not biking, I was exhausted after a tiny distance. Due to thinking I could cycle at the same sort of speed as in my teens I expect. Advice given to me on here was bike slower. It worked lol. It will probably be a very few trips before you're able to put your foot down and go further :)
If it's traffic that worries you, then maybe you have an adult cycling-confidence type class nearby?
