HRM is a good way to measure more accurately but other than that, someone listed the correct method below.

With something like that, you really need a heart rate monitor to know for sure.
Otherwise, I would do the method of tracking the minutes spent walking at your estimated speed and then the minutes spent jogging, at your estimated speed.
It's a little bit of a pain, but better than tracking nothing.

When I did the c25k, i had a nike+ ffot pod and the nike app. That calculated the speed and distance for me. But you can also use the endomondo app if you have a smart phone. It's free and uses your phones gps capabilities to track how far you go and how long it takes and will give you a calorie read out for the workout. I have compared it to my heart rate monitor and it actually does pretty good.

When I did C25K, I tracked the minutes running and the minutes walking as previously suggested.

I can't remember exactly what the schedule of C25K is, but I would recommend tracking the running and walking seperately along the lines of

6 x 2 mins running @ 5 mph = 12 mins running @ 5 mph
6 x 3 mins walking @ 3.5 mph = 18 mins walking @ 3.5 mph

This is just for illustration purposes - obviously you will have a better idea of your running and walking pace than I do.

I track my C25K training on the mileage tab with miles and minutes.
